Braves Fall to Grays 10-3

OAKTON, VA- The Braves headed back home for their final regular season home game, and fell 10-3 largely in part to a four home run game from Grays right fielder Harrison Freed.
The Grays got off to a hot start, scoring three runs in the top half of the 1st when a runner scored from 3rd on a sacrifice fly and then a two-run home run from Freed. The Braves would answer back with a run of their own, when Alex Bernauer singled home Cayden Stover
In the 3rd inning, Freed would hit is second home run of the day, a solo shot to center field to widen the Grays lead to 4-1.
The Braves would look to answer again in the 3rd, as Ciarran Devenney would reach 1st on a one-out error by the shortstop. Bernauer would work a walk, and Nick Wheeler would single to left. Unfortunately for the Braves, a lineout to shortstop would double off Bernauer to end the threat.
In the 5th inning, the Grays would lead off with a single, and then a two-run blast by Freed would make the game 6-1 in favor of the Grays. Another solo home run by Freed would make the score 7-1, as the Braves pushed across a run on a sacrifice fly to center field by Richard Constantine, scoring Brett Norwood.
The Grays would score two more runs on a single to left field to push their lead to 9-2, and then 10-2 when a sacrifice fly scored another Gray. Nick Wheeler would walk to start the 8th, and come home to score when he stole 2nd base, and a throwing error by the catcher when Wheeler took of for 3rd five pitches later.
The Braves would go down in order in the 9th and fell 10-3. With the loss, the Braves fell to 15-22. Their next game is tomorrow, Tuesday July, 17 as they head to Gaithersburg to take on the Giants. First pitch is set for 7:00pm.
