July 21, 2017

BETHESDA, MD- The regular season for the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League concluded last night, with the Bethesda Big Train defeating the Braves 12-7.

The Braves would get off to a blistering start, scoring seven runs in the first inning highlighted by a Chandler Miller three-run home run.

The division-leading Big Train would score seven runs of their own in the next two innings to tie the game at 7-7. They would then score four more runs in the 5th to widen their lead to 11-7. They would add one more run to make the lead 12-7.

Ciarran Devenney, Alex Bernauer, Dakota Graham, and Chandler Miller all had two hits apiece for the Braves. Miller drove in four runs and scored one.

With the loss, the Braves finished the regular season at 16-24. Unfortunately, the record was not good enough to make the Cal Ripken League Playoffs. The Braves would like to thank everyone for their support this summer.
