Braves Stumble in loss to Riverdogs

July 8, 2017

ASHBURN, VA- The Braves dropped a contest against the Loudoun Riverdogs Saturday night at Rock Ridge High School by a score of 12-2.

The game got out to a quick start when Riverdogs Isaiah Pasteur doubled and then scored on a two-run home run by Peter Nielsen.

However, the Braves would answer back in the bottom half of the second inning when Brett Norwood worked a bases loaded walk to score Dakota Graham, followed by a Chandler Miller single scoring Michael Kuzbel.

The Riverdogs would have an answer of their own in the third inning, scoring four runs to widen their lead. Another big inning where they saw five runs come across to score would ultimately put the game out of reach.

In relief for the Braves, Braydyn Vogtsberger pitched 2.2 innings of two hit ball, striking out four and allowing no earned runs. Chandler Miller went 2 for 4 at the plate with an RBI.

With the loss, the Braves fall to 12-17 on the year. They will finish the suspended game with the Baltimore Redbird on July 9. The game will pick up in the top of the 13th at 5:30pm at Herndon High School. 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game, the Braves will take on the Redbirds for a 9 inning matchup.
